Finance Associate

The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) invites applications for the position of Finance Associate.
The Finance Associate will provide support to the Nebraska State College System Office in Lincoln, NE operation as needed.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Process Accounts Payable entries in SAP for vendor payments for the System Office/Colleges.
- Obtain cost centers from the colleges for consolidated vendor payments.
- Process SAP Journal Entries (JE), DAS General Document (UD), and University only JE (UU) as necessary.
- Process Accounts Receivable entries in NIS and SAP.
- Maintain balance of LB309 Task Force projects and ensure funds are available. Obtain correct signatures and send to LB309 Task Force for processing. Track new allocations and change orders.
- Maintain balance of bond projects to ensure funds are available. After collecting signature send to BOK for payment.
- Purchasing Card Coordinator.
- Prepare/process Bond payments.
- Process Revenue Bond Resolutions for campuses. Ensure funds are available and track reallocation. Send to BOK for processing.
- Distribute Capitol Improvement Fee funds when approved and transfer funds.
- Process Monthly payroll and maintain benefit enrollment information for System Office employees using SAP.
- Act as System contact for State Treasurer notifications regarding rejected payroll payments.
- Distribute garnishments and wage orders to State Accounting and Colleges as needed.
- File all payroll, benefits, and accounts payable documents.
- Maintain office files/records per Record Retention Schedule.
- Defensive Driving Coordinator for System Office and Colleges.
- Manage TSB Vehicle for the System Office.
- Process and track monthly time certifications for System Office employees.
- Back up for posting the daily flex spending payments.
Other Duties Include:
- Contact for copier service and maintenance.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain office and conference room reservation calendars.
- Order office supplies.
- Answer phones.
- Contact Building Manager for office maintenance requests.
- Coordinate Parking for System Office employees.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of related finance, bookkeeping or clerical work experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Experience performing finance or accounting tasks in a business setting
- Experience with SAP or large integrated financial system
Essential Competencies:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Experience or aptitude to learn new software applications and technology tools.
Additional Information:
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- This position is based in the NSCS Office in Lincoln, NE.
- Overnight travel is required.
- Minimum salary $45,000. An excellent benefits package is provided.
