The Nebraska State Colleges Board of Trustees selected Dr. Sean Ahern as the 2025 Teaching Excellence Award recipient for the Nebraska State College System. 

Chadron State, Peru State, and Wayne State Colleges are integral to the growth of Nebraska’s economy, workforce, and the communities they serve. An economic impact study conducted by Lightcast reveals that the Nebraska State College System contributed $1.4 billion to Nebraska’s economy during the fiscal year 2022-23—equivalent to nearly 1% of the state’s total gross state product.
